Terry,
Thank you for the information. What performance difference would you expect beween these and either the regular or hand finshed stage 2 5.3 heads?

Thanks.

the regular 5.3's will give you a bit more compression & im not sure if the bowl's are blended on the 5.7's regularly yet so you might gain 5 or so hp just by going to the 5.3's across the board...the hand finished 5.3's not only offer better flow but you can also get larger valves with them so id assume upwards of 10-15hp on the top end of the powerband...they look to be really strong heads fwiw.

foff667,
Do you mean that the hand finished 5.3 would make 10-15 hp more than the hand finished 5.7 or the regular Stage II 5.7?

the regular 5.7's...theres not much of a point to getting the 5.7's in a NA car unless youve got a 98 & want some cheap heads like me hehe...the centerbolt 5.7's offer no advantage that i know of over centerbolt 5.3's...assuming it makes 10cfm across the board more than the std id assume 10-15 more then the std 5.3 heads.

I do have a 98 M6 Z. I am trying to figure out what is the best bang for the buck, $999 perimeter bolt 5.7, hand finished perimeter bolt 5.7, stage 2 5.3 or hand finished 5.3. Also curious how hand finished 5.3 compares to std stage 2 ls6 style.

Thanks.

And if somebody can answer that...this thread is worth subscribing to - I've got a '97 C5 with perimeter heads, and that $999 for some heads might just be a great deal - curious to see if the /buck is there though

i think if terry would do $1400 for the perimeter bolts & hand finished with the larger valves that would be thee best deal out there bar none...im not sure if hes doing that but damn that would be an awesome buy...i know he'll upgrade to the hand finishing for previous customers that wanted to send them back for the update but without the larger valves i dont think its worth my time & effort to send them back for 5-10 cfm. Maybe terry can fill us in but if he could offer basically competition type heads ie dual springs, hand finished, large valve i think its 2.08/1.60?? & upwards of 306cfm@.600 w/no core charge??? that really would be thee best deal out there bar none IMO

Does hand finishing include larger valves?

foff...that would be AWESOME! i dont know terry, never spoke with him, but you sound like you have had some interaction with him in the past. You ought to email him and see if he could work out that deal, it would be SMOKIN', id definitely be in for a set! And JakeL, these heads would work fine on your C5 bro!

i already asked about abotu the upgrade on this board but from where im standing it sounds like in my case he'd end up just doing the hand finishing w/ no valve swap...like i said if he would do perimeter bolt heads hand finished, w/ larger valves for $1395 er whatever that would be the ****.
