One 243, one 799
I'm looking to upgrade my 00 C5 heads in perpetration for a cam/stall. Found a guy willing to sell a complete set (one 243, one 799) for a decent price. I was under the impression that I won't have any problems. Correct?
Problems in running one 799 head and and one 243 head... Any problems at all. I thought I had read on here where people have seen cars from the factory with this combo for whatever reason.

The casting methods used for the 799 and 243 are different and produce different finishes. The chambers in the 243s will be smooth, and the 799s rough - this could have some minor implications with tuning for knock (you will always be tuning to the 799). I recently had a well known vendor try to sell me one of each (non-CNC'd chambers) and I told them to pound salt as that is just a shitty way to build a performance engine, and it would hurt resale options. I ended up with a matched pair of 799s from Texas Speed...
If it is a good deal, and you aren't particular like me, you'll be fine.
