Default Roller Tip Rockers, good addition or bad?

I am considering adding a set of 1.8 roller tip after market rockers to my stock LS6 motor. I realize that a spring upgrade will be a necessary item. Is the added weight of these rockers too much weight on the valves, pushrods and lifters? In doing this, am I opening up a can of worms and asking for trouble? Also, would these 1.8's be a No No with the addition of an after market cam?? I have not found too much information on the negative side relating to my questions.
Thanks guys..

Really IMO aftermarket rockers are a waste at just cam only/ heads cam car. Stock rockers have proven them selves for a long time and are lighter. Now if your talking Jesel,T&D, Crower, those are very nice and very expensive rockers and only aftermarket rocker I would recommend if doing so.

You can find lovers & haters for just about any brand of aftermarket roller rockers.

I'm not sure what the differences are. We ran them on small & big block chevys for years with no problems yet I hear of all kinds of problems with the LS motors.

Roller tips reduce guide wear but do increase weight. Is the trade off worth it? I don't know that is for you to decide. With a properly designed valve train the added weight should not be a problem.

Going with 1.8 ratio is more questionable in my opinion. If you get a cam with the right profile there is no reason to go to 1.8.

My .02

Good luck

You will not go wrong with roller tip rockers. Jesel , T&D ,Crower are all fine. We make cams for any rocker ratio. 1.7 / 1.8/ 1.85 any ratio. I have Jesel's 1.7 .600 lift cam spring's 140 seat 380 open. I can turn mine 7500 easy with no problems. I should let you know that mine are solid lifters.

Yes you do. I think my winter build plans may include more cubes and a solid roller setup.
