Ls1 and lq4
Hello everyone. Well have a dumb question really. Or it will turn out to be that way i think.
I have a 01 lq4 out fo a yukon so it is a truck engine. Now my curious question is can i use all the stuff from the LS conversion like the bracket kits so i can put the motor in a 98 tahoe or truck.
I know that the truck engines have a truck pan and not a car pan and it has different intake and internals but more interested about external stuff.
I have yet to find anything for an actual LQ4 swap or conversion brackets for the ac and all that.

LQ4 and LS1 items all interchange externally. LQ4 is iron block(vs. aluminum) and larger displacement(6.0 vs. 5.7) version of the LS1. The major difference is the accessories of car vs. truck. Car-type intake requires car front accessories or massaging/adapting of the truck-style setup. No reason to go with car accessories for your application though...but the point is that all of the above will bolt to either block. They sit closer to the block by a couple of inches than the truck equivalent.
Good luck.

Depends. If you are specifically ordering a conversion for older Tahoe with car LS1, there may be some differences depending on what kit you are looking at. You should tell the company you are ordering from that you are using an LS-style motor with the TRUCK front accessory setup. If that isn't enough for them to know what you need, find a more knowledgeable vendor.
The mounting holes in the block and heads are the same.
