Default Cam and pistons for Big HP

Hello all, I am in te final stages of planning my summer build. I am going to have a 382 lunati stroker with a LSX intake and 90mm TB, TEA stage 3 heads. My question is this; what sort of cam should i be looking at to make 500 hp NA to the wheels? I would like a streetable cam because I will be driving the car everyday. I would also like to keep a rather low CR because I will be going supercharged next year. Is there a cam that will give me good numbers with and without the supercharger and should I use the Lunati Pistons or get new ones? Thanks

ur not gonna get 500rwhp with low compression, if ur gonna go with a supercharger, plan for it now, get the right heads/cam/pistons now, instead of having to buy a 2nd set of pieces later on... how r u lowering the compression, with the heads, or pistons? that will decide what to buy... also depends on how much boost u plan on running too... more boost = less compression

Well, I was planning on a D type ATI and running more than 8psi of boost. possiblly upwards of 15psi when I race it. If i were to use S3 LS6 heads on a 382ci I have a number of ways of relieving compression, heads, pistons, and a larger gasket? which method is more economical?

i'd used dished pistons myself to lower the compression, then run head studs, a stock gasket and unmilled heads.

what sort of cam should I be using? I dont want to go mechanical roller (high maintinance) thinking hydrolic roller. I dont know anything about duration and LSA. I want to go no higher than .690 lift. Any suggestions?

.690 lift? That's a tall order for a hydraulic lifter. Like said above, plan everything ahead of time, and don't make any changes as you near completion. It will create big probs down the road. If you want a good blower cam, then check in the FI section.

In general (remember...GENERAL) you want to go with a wide LSA and a short duration/high lift. You want to get that intake valve closed quickly to maintain low end torque on a centrifugal. Don't go with a high duration camshaft. You don't need it.

To give you an idea...we're making over 750rwhp/750rwtq with a hydraulic roller 427. The camshaft is a little old 224 single duration cam on 114LSA. That is seriously detuned with around 10psi boost.
