Default Hats off to thunder racing.

Just completed my setup yesterday and drove the first 70 miles on my new engine. The TREX is in and the car is idling nicely at 1000 rpms. Mile 51 was a bit crazy as I broke the wheels loose at 55 cruising. Thank you Geoff for such a good mail order tune. I couldn't have asked for better.

nice! how much did the mail order tune cost if you dont mind my asking?? Im doing a heads and cam setup soon and with my A4 i dont think im going to be able to get it to idle. And the closest place for dynotuning (Rapid Motorsports) is about 250 miles away. Just something to tide me over til i can get her on the dyno

Brian,I am sure that Geoff[TR]can get you up and running with a mail order tune.I had my TR224/224cam and heads with my A4 mail tuned by TR and it was a job well done. You should give them a call and inquire about your specific set up.

How much does the tune from TR cost? My car has stock drive train with a small cam(212I--218E@50 and 114 sep) with my own head port and LT's. It's an automatic. It dies at the light sometimes. I know I need more stall. It runs 12.78 in the quarter with a 2.01 60'. But I wonder if I need a tune on the computer since the people I ordered it from said I didn't need one.

You can play with the throttle body stop screw a bit to get your idle dialed in without tuning. I did that a little and my car idles fairly smoothly at 850 rpms... Not bad for an overcammed A4.
