If you mean 700 hp at the crank then yes but it's going to have to be one nasty setup

12+ compression, MAST heads, 25x/26x cam and spin it high enough sure you can get there.

Yes its crank i just want to hit around 600rwhp with a 12 bolt and t56. CR 11.7 to1 running c16 or c85 gas. Spinning to about 8k. 3400 pound car race weight. Looking to do 10.30s on motor. I was looking at MAST 256 cc head. The price not that bad compare to the price of gen x 255. MAST heads out flow them too for around the same dollar

I went 9.50 with ported ls3 on a 418 hyd roller at 3000lb

Figure it made 660. You should not need more than 65010 to go 10.30 at that weight

With a hyd cam. He called back wanted a solid. With the solid it made 744/775hp

CR 11.7 to1 running c16 or c85 gas.
You're going to want more compression than that to meet your goals, especially if you're going to be running high octane gas.

11.7 is just at the top of the range on pump 93 gas so it would be a waste to run that on race or E85 gas.

I was reading a article (I know) but with a similar 408 made 635 hp but with less parts i would be happy with that. But it was on pump gas, 11 to 1 CR, vic jr with 4 barrel throttle body. I will have a better flowing head, custom cam from two cam guys and mix their ideas, super vic intake, 2k+ cfm throttle body, c16/c85 fuel, about 1 point up in comparison. So with all that i should do 700hp 590tq at the crank. The engine will be built for BIG nitrous. 400 to 500 shot on 2 kits i may do 500 another year and do 3 kits. I'm trying to make a streetable grudge car. Are top grudge cars do high to mid 6s to low 7s. If a can run a 8.70s man i would be sooooooo happy

anything in the 8's is expensive unless you have a 2400lb car. getting into the 8's is not easy

Yes I'm looking at 20k. I have the engine but not the rotating assembly because I'm not sure if i want a 418 l92 set up. I'm building the car the engine will be last. And what ever i get with nitrous i will be happy

It may take more than one post. I found this.

Callies Dragon Slayer forged crank
Callies Ultra H-Beam forged rods with ARP L-19 bolts
Comp Cams Hydraulic roller camshaft
CNC ported GM L92 aluminum heads with Del West coated titanium
valves & dual springs
GM LS3 aluminum block
Mahle forged flat top pistons
Champ LS circle track oil pan
GM carbureted intake manifold
Special timing cover made to allow conventional
distributor and fuel pump
MSD Distributor
GM rocker arms revised with Comp roller
trunion bearings
ATI crankshaft Damper
Engine balanced to within .5 grams, assembled,
dyno tested, and sealed

6.2L Alum Block
 3.625 Stroke 4340 Crank
 Titanium Valves
 Carbureted Int Manifold
 11.5;1 Compression
 6.125 4340 Rod
 Forged Flat Top Pistons
 CNC Ported Heads

Claims 660+HP/520+torque

It would seem that your goals are within reach. The cam specs are not listed. It is using factory rockers with trunion upgrade.

I am running a LQ9 LSX (TSP) 4.030x4.0 -3cc with 823 decked 30. 11.75:1 BTR equalizer intake ( not best NA, holley high ram outperforms. but once force fed they shine. been seeing about a 10-15hp less over the holley NA) BTR valve train. TSP 3.2 LS7 cam (240/252, .657"/.655" lift w/ 1.8:1 rocker ratio. 111 LSA 109 ICL) TSP LSX forged RA rotating assembly. Long tubes and hooker blackheart exhaust ( basically tuned straight pipes for track only .. oops. lol) Vararam Intake, Tick built Tremec Supermagnum lv5 mgw flat stick, RPM torque tube built, Mcleod RXT 1200 (will be going to a mantic in future), and awaiting a c6Z rear to send off to have built up to handle the power shes bout to have....came off at 598/591tq. if i was on the holley id have broke 600. and if wed thrown a hair more timing she would too ( driving it damn near cross country to an oil rig so last tune we decided not to go max effort since some pumps i run across i cant get but 89 and 91. but kept some boosters with me just in case. just remeber.. if you go that kinda route. watch your fuel. dont let your ole lady slap some 87 in it. Id be real worried bout detonating. she will be going E85/flex with meth and F1X procharger. and waiting on the time to send the intake off to nitrous outlet for the 300 shot they gotta machine the intake for. should be round the 1400 neighborhood said and done. but currently shes knocking at 700 crank. so yes you def can do it. just be aware.. this isnt the funnest daily. ( though my dumb butt does anyways.)

I saw it was. but figured others might be searching the same things on the 408 and just helping show some of the option it takes to hit 600 to the rear. its 2023 now and i was looking up things on strokers in that range.

Everyone here knows me as the "old post gestapo", but I saw this as adding to the knowledge base, not asking questions of long-gone posters.
