Default LS2 safe cam lift

Years ago I had a set of 243 heads sent to TS/PRC for their stage 2.5 work with .650" springs and also milled .02. Originally they were going on a LS1 block but plans have changed and now I want to bolt them onto a stock bottom end LS2 block. Question is what would the safe amount lift cam I can run without running into PTV issues.

You can run upwards of .63x and be ok, but it's kinda pointless as the intake and heads probably run out of breath by then.

That was kind of my next question right now I have on the shelf a 224/230 610 605 113+4 cam that I can drop in together with an LS6 intake. If its safe to run with no PTV issues would I leaving a lot on the table by using this cam.

You'll be more than ok with that.

Think for a minute, where are the pistons when the cam is at max lift?

PTV is more about the overlap area than it is about max lift.

Yep. Gross lift doesn't really affect PTV issues. Ramp rates and overlap do.

OP, if you have that camshaft on hand, the best thing to do is install it and measure. It takes extra time, but at least you'll know for certain.

it beats buying one and then measuring and finding it won't fit
