Default Pushrod length?

I just got a cam for my stock ls1. The cam base circle measures 1.430 inches. The heads have never been milled and I have the stock MLS gaskets. What length pushrods do I need? Also, I know I should use a pushrod length checker too and what's the compressed thickness of my stock gasket? Thanks for any help!

The cam specs are .600 lift on both I and E with 219 I duration, 230 E duration and 117.5 LSA. I know I could make more power with something bigger but this is supposed to work with my turbo and be very drivable/quiet.

best way is to measure

put in cam, bolt down rocker, use adjustable pushrod to get to zero lash, pull out and measure with a good set of calipers, add desired preload(I recommend .020~.050 preload)
order pushrods from manufacturer of your choice.

7.425" is the easier answer. The smaller base circle aftermarket cams require approximately .025" more pushrod to achieve stock preload.

I disagree...
the base circles of aftermarket cams are not usually small enough to warrant a change in pushrod length

they often arent even .010 smaller than stock

if you have stock 7.4 pushrods, you can most likely get some 7.4 aftermarket hardened pushrods to put back in

Just measure. There are so many variables engine to engine - tolerances stack up.

Measuring is easy...only way to be 100% sure. The adjustable pushrod is $20. But most go with 7.400 pushrods I beleive.
