Default 408 with ls3 heads

hey guys i havent been on here in a really long time as this car my dad and i built we sold 4 years ago and i just recently got it back after my dad passed away from the guy we sold it to. anyway now has come the time where i want to do some upgrades to the car as its been built the way it is now since june of 2010.

i have a 408 with -12cc mahle pistons and stock ls3 heads. right now im around 9.5:1 compression according to the online calculators. and i want to jump it up to 11.5 or even 12.1 compression. what would be the easiest way to accomplish this? pull the mahle pistons out and go with a ls3 specific piston or should i just mill the heads? i know i cant get the compression im looking for with just a mill of the heads but curious what everyone is doing to get decent compression without compromising PTV clearance. when i put the heads on i checked the clearance and i had MILES of room but i also want to change camshafts with a more ls3 friendly cam, it currently has a 235/240 .603/.609 112lsa and makes 460/470 to the tire the way it sits.

Swap the pistons. It shouldn't affect the valve reliefs or PTV so you shouldn't worry about that.

New pistons are going to be the only way to achieve 11.5:1. I have -4cc Autotec pistons in my 404 with .030" milled LS3 heads and I'm right at 11.5:1.

Also, I'm not worried about PTV, either:

thanks for the reply guys, i was gonna keep the low compression and do a s480 on it but my dad was the type to not cut his cars up and i dont want to do that, he did however love nitrous and i was thinkin about upping compression and a new cam with maybe a 200 shot down the road. id like to achieve 500-550 rwhp na and then the nitrous on top i have the supporting mods mcleod street twin(old school 3 finger pressure plate) tick MC with a stage 5 t56 with viper cluster and 12 bolt
