Going to be getting a cam soon. For cheap, real cheap... New, never used, comp grind... 235/242, 620/593 111 LSA. Getting 60lbs injectors, melling oil pump, LS2 timing set, springs, pushrods, and rockers. I'm getting this whole setup for pretty much nothing.

So question, for some of you guys that know better than me... Which is most of you. Is this thing going to work decent enough with my stock 243s to make it worth swapping before I get a set of trick flows or machine my stockers?

I have HPtuners already so tuning is covered.

Sorry, on mobile, I forgot it doesn't come up

04 CTS-V LS6
T56
3.83s

I have 1&3/4 long tubes 3in exhaust as well.

Also, injectors... Do I need 60s or with the stock ones work? I got damn near 100k on the car so I don't mind getting new injectors.

I think that the 60"s will be way too big. 36 or 42 would probably be big enough

42lb injectors are plenty big, but I'd go with more rear gear, like some 4.10s.

I'm gonna stay with the stock injectors then, just up the duty cycle. The rear gearing is stock for now at 3.83 r/p. When I do my 8.8 rear end swap next year I'll change it then maybe. Or at least I'll have another diff gear set to track with.

There's a very strong chance you be at max duty cycle with the stock injectors. IMO, upgrade the injectors. The 4.10 gears would be better but you probably still run very good with the 3.83 gears.

I'll just up the duty cycle as far as I can. If its not enough I'll dial everything back a bit and go get some bigger injectors later.

Basically I got cam, pushrods, rockers, springs w/ Ti retainers, LS2 timing set, melling pump, and timing cover gasket for $700. So it was an ok deal... Oh and he's gonna help me throw it all in.

FYI, you can have your stock injectors rebuilt as 42 lb injectors, for a lot less than buying new injectors.

Right on, thanks. I've heard about doing that. I'll see if I can get a set. We got a good group of guys out here that I roll with. I'm sure someone will have something. I daily my car for now, so I can't just take the injectors out and ship em off for a week

Who does the rebuilds on the injectors, and how much does it cost?
