Default Rebuild block

Hey guys I bought a rebuilt block but has stock Pistons and rods in it with approximately 112k miles. The block has clevite bearings and arp rod bolts. Do you think it's safe to run this block for dd? Do I need to replaced the Pistons and rods?

Isn't gonna cost that much? It's not a gen 1 SBC, a rebuild with stock replacement parts is going to cost over $1000.

i dont think so unless you include possible machine work. all bearings can be had for about $175. rings are $100. the gaskets are pricey but alot better than any of the sbc stuff. and if you were rebuilding a roller sbc you would still pay quite a bit.
we can get you everything you need for a really good price. let us know!

Thats just a ring and bearing job. A full rebuild with new pistons and and all of the needed machine work is going to be over $1000.

Thanks guys. How long does these Pistons and rods usually last for dd?
I got a quote for mahle rods and je pistons totaling up to 1200.thats without any machine work ect ect. That's gonna be around 2k total.
Can you reuse the stock head bolts? Or does it have to be replace with arp?
I'll post pics of the block and let you guys the expert look at it.

you really do not need new rods just bearings and machine work and possibly new rod bolts. you can do a regular rebuild and be just fine and have a dependable dd and street warrior or you can upgrade some parts and have more peace of mind and please the internet crowd. either way we can help you out in your goals.

That part has been rebuilt 2k ago. The previous owner didn't change the Pistons and rods. That's what concerns me.

i would use new pistons but you will be fine with your rods if doing a budget build. otherwise you can get quality rods in i beam or h beam for a good price with arp bolts and pistons with rings for a decent price also. id recommend scat rods and mahle power pack forged pistons. if you are going that far. good quality pieces and keep on a good budget.
