I'm running different thickness gaskets on my engine, and it runs perfect. 12k miles and counting...

i had to do something similar on a vortec headed gen1 400. but I just had the short side head milled a little less. not a pretty fix for sure. worked good and i sold the motor after beating the **** out of it for 50k
