So I'm replacing a bad rod bearing in my L33. I know it has the 4th gen rods but it is still a gen 3 engine.
When I asked, I was told that the replacement part number for rod bearings is 89017573. I ordered a single pair of these online. The only identifying mark on the back of these is GM A590. These appear to be aluminum based bearings, my old ones look slightly copper. They also look thicker to the naked eye but I haven't measured them.
I pulled the old bearings. The part number on the back of them GM 12561342. This part number doesn't show up on any search. On the other side they say M 020 6. When I search this site for this part number, they don't show up. When I search google for this part number, Summit directs me to the part number 89017811 for LS7/LS9 bearings.
Anyone know what the correct bearing is and what exactly these are that I pulled out of my engine?

Are you dead set on running GM bearings?
The aftermarket (Clevite, ACL, etc) use a 663 part number with different prefixes and suffixes for different options.
BTW, bearings don't just "go bad." Something caused that to happen so unless you figure out what, it may happen on the new bearings as well.

The L33 engine was used in the 2005–2007 Silverado and Sierra 1500 4WD trucks. GM Parts Direct shows 89017573 as the correct bearing.
GM may have used different bearings during assembly due to parts availability at the time.
I would install and use the 89017573 set you got.
