Idle issues, HELP!
hello all! I just finished up installing a new cam, longtubes and LS6 aluminum intake on my 2000 Camaro SS. everything was going good until when we tried to start it and it backfired through the intake. bad. I had to travel for work for more than a month and finally got some time this weekend to retime it. the car starts fine now but immediately revs to 4k rpm and stays there. theres a couple vaccum lines that are open and the O2 sensors aren't connected, could that be the reason?? any other insight is greatly appreciated. thanks for looking!
I would try to make sure there are no vacuum leaks at all. Those can cause those issues. I would plug the O2's in if it was my car, wouldn't cause what is happening though.

Yes, get those vacuum line hooked up along with the O2 sensors. then get you car to who ever will be tuning it. Open vacuum ports means more air, unmetered air and the engine is going to rev..
figured it out! the bolts on the intake were barely finger tight, and thus the gasket was corroded and useless. new gasket and tight bolts= purr like a kitten! and a 228r cam and open headers sounds damn good!
