Default 228r - Do these numbers seem right?

I installed a 228r (LS1) and a set of 1 7/8" long tubes, stock 241 heads, stock intake, t56 through a 9" and got 401 whp, 356 ftlb on a Mustang dyno. I trapped 115 untuned (dyno numbers after tune). Does that seem right or is it possible I got sent the wrong cam?

I like your numbers. My LS1 only made 265 RWHP on the same dyno completely stock with 95,000 miles, no tune and original plugs and a lean condition. I found out I have the 853 heads and not the 241 heads. Is your car a daily driver and would this be a good daily driver cam?

It drives like stock with only a little surging if you let it lug at idle for a few seconds.

that cam shouldn't surge

your car is definitely healthy if it trapped 115 untuned and made anything close to 400rwhp on a Mustang dyno

if it drives good I wouldn't worry too much about it but your results are better than most I see for that

I'd say those are some good #'s for your setup. The power curve looks a little strange to me. Max tq at about 3k rpm & the power seems to be still rising at 6300??

that is what i was thinking also. looks like @ 6375 is where the pull stopped and it was still rising. that cam should be done by 6100-6200. mine made 383 rw around 6100-6200 and i had 1 3/4 tubes.115 is healthy. i am thinking mine trapped around 91-92 in the 1/8th.

Very good numbers for stock heads.

You can really make any aftermarket cam surge if your driving in parking lots or up hills at a slow speed. Maybe thats what he means.
