Default ?s on installing larger valves in 243 heads

I have done a search and couldnt find the answers i am looking for. I am installing a set of 243 heads on a lq4 and i was contemplating having them ported. I am curious if it would be advantagous to add a larger intake valve since the lq4 has a larger bore. I think i would have alot less money in adding larger valves then shipping them out for porting. I could blend the seat into the port with the bigger valve and have more area at low and mid lift also. What size valve should i consider? Would i get more power across the board with a bigger valve and hand blending? I can respect what the pro porters do im just looking to take a different path is all. Any insight or results are much appreciated as im going to be talking to a machinist in a couple weeks. Thanks

2.02/1.57 combo would allow a skilled head guy the ability to put his seat angles in place without sinking the valve. Then he can advise you on the blending/rocker bump removal etc.
