Thinking of using this kit for my rebuild

Default Thinking of using this kit for my rebuild

I have a LM7 5.3 that I got free from work.
The engine ran but the water pump leaked when I brought it home.
I removed the heads and oil pan yesterday, and this thing is dirty inside.
Like oil changes were a luxury this little guy was never given.

I would like to send the heads to TEA for a clean up,and use this kit to freshen up the bottom end.
Is this a decent choice http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fem-bk6081000 ?
This will be for a pro touring, road trip style build.

I know the kit was for a 5.7 .
But the options for pistons on a 5.3 are limited and expensive.
Unless anyone knows something I missed.

The Summit Kit that you are looking at is a reasonable quality stock type kit IMHO.

Ok Thanks,
I'm just looking to build a cruiser/Long Hauler .
If I can find a kit that doesn't require such a large over bore I would prefer to go that route though.

If you going to go to all of the trouble and expense you might as well bore it that far for the extra cubes.

As mentioned, you could bore the block to a 3.898" or 3.903" and get the added cubes. It could be done reasonably cheap if you could locate a set of used LS1 or LS6 pistons and rods. Install a set of Sealed Power rings and a set of ARP rod bolts, and go down the road. We don't have any used pistons or rods, but we can help on the rebuild kit, bearings, etc. Just let us know!
