Multiple local LS guys (with more experience than I) claim I dont need to use a degree wheel. Just put it in "straight up" I was a lil concerned about it. Got some more experienced guys that are gonna help me install the cam

That is extremely similar to a custom cam grind that Martin (Tick) made for me. Saving up to buy it. Highly recommend you ask Martin his opinion as well.

Regardless, let the vendor know you'd like cam motion to grind it if you decide to go with a custom cam.

I disagree..due to tolerance stacking, your advertised ICL could be way off, whether you put it in straight up or not..degreeing a cam simply tells you what the ICL of the cam is in the motor,it doesn't change anything.
as an example, the last cam I installed was supposed to have an ICL of 109.it was actually at 111..
just my .02,it's your car bro.

OP,

Since this is a daily driver, i wouldnt go any smaller than a 228 cam from TSP. If you wanted a bit more, than the Torquer 2 would be the biggest cam i would daily drive. Just do a search. You will see countless threads and vids of those 2 cams.
