Default 5.3 build. 4x4 rcsb.

So here's the skinny, I have an 05 rcsb 4x4 Silverado. It has a 4.8 in it now 3.42 gears 4l60e. I got my hands on a 5.3 l59 as a candidate for my build. The plan is this.
Reuse crank and rods
New flat top pistons
243 heads
Tsp220r
Ls7 lifters
High volume oil pump
Ls2 timing chain
Reuse rockers with comp reunions
ARP head studs, rod bolts
Tsp hardened push rods
Double valve springs with titanium retainers
Lt headers
Tsp ory
Tsp by yank 3000 stall with lock up
Transgo hd2 shift kit
Vette servo

Questions I have are what cr would I be looking at with heads and flat tops? Should I port and polish the heads possibly mill them down? Oversize valves? Floating or pressed wrist pins. What are pros and con's of each? What head gaskets should I run? I've heard of people using ls6 for there lower crushed thickness. Any other upgrades I should consider? Tuning will be done by Justune Here in kc. For those of you who don't know who that is he is the owner of "reddragon" I would love to hit 400rwhp but I think that's a little out of reach n/a and no spray. Thanks everyone!!

i would personally trade or sell the 243's for the 799's and pickup the compression difference i would port any head you throw on it. 400 rwhp is going to require giving up some bottom end if you want that # pro flow intake from edlebrock and a cam to push in the 6800-7000 range if not have your intake ported and just pick a cam that fits your requirements i would recommend a tsp 224 cam

243s and 799s are basically the same heads why would he swap between them.
Porting a set of either would be good.
I wouldn't bother with larger valves, several vendors get great results with the 243/799s with stock valves even with the larger bore on the 5.7l engines.

Please don't use LS7 lifters!! Get you some morel 5315 lifters! You want to hear your cam not a lifter ticking also those LS7 lifters like eat lobes off cams and collapsing too!!

The 317s are the low compression version of the 243/799 heads.

The 243/799s have the same chambers.

The 317s came on 6.0l engines not 5.3l.

It's go be tough cracking 400 rwhp with a 220 duration cam and factory casting heads... don't forget a automatic eats up more horsepower on the rollers than a manual transmission does.....
