sleeve ls1 block?
Ive finally started my Firehawk build after a long time waiting.. for the longest time i was deadset on forced induction.. but have decided to go with a solid n/a build for now.
Ive seen that mid sleeves are a option for the aluminum ls1 that i have now. Has anyone used these before that have first hand experience? It shows that there is a 4.200 max bore for the sleeves and that 401 CI is achievable with the stock crank. Is it possible to get even more displacement with an aftermarket crank? I want 427CI+ but not interested in the hefty ls7 block price. Thanks guys.

The LS7 is slightly cheaper than the resleeve options.
However, you can go 454 with a resleeve vs ~440 on the LS7. The sleeves allow a 4.200" bore and a 4.155" crank. The bores are longer than the stock block's sleeves and allow for a much longer stroke without issue.

The aluminum 5.3 block is best for sleeving. I just bought one for 250 dollars. I agree with Jake too. I plan on running a 4.155 bore/4.000 stroke n/a.... I'm thinking the 4.0" stroke will last forever in this due to the longer than factory sleeves like Jake mention... Also I'll have room to bore more if needed.
