No I don't think it would be unbearable, but for a cam that makes nothing below 4500 rpms, I don't think driving would be very fun. Could it be done, shure, but where's the fun in it? Like you said, driveability is relative to the driver.

josh, i have a 242/248 cam, with decent gears it is very driveable. i love to drive mine a few days a week, it makes driveable power from 2000-7200 rpms. i can cruz at 2000 and will only randomly get a lil surge. i hasnt even been tuned for drivebility yet.

Well just dont wreck it before you get time slips I want to see what that thing runs! should be crazy. BTW I drive a s-10 with 240+ degrees of duration @ .050 every day I can(no rain) in heavy traffic, love it no complants and when the traffic clears....whoa time to run it up to 7k and hang on! I would really like to see a video of a 9 second pass on a stock short block. That would be the definition of cool. BTW I have crappy 3.73's w/ 26" tall tires and a th350 in that one. Geared for spray not n/a. Still drives good with that gear around town. Then agian I am a very sick sick person and my definition of streetable includes 14:1 and solid roller too.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I have the T-ReX as well and I don't have any part-throttle tuning, I'm still running the 3.42s, even. Aside from some surging below 2000, I have no complaints about the drivability, and the surge is easily controllable. It really is amazing how drivable these large cams are.

You can make a million foot pounds at 3000, even 4000 RPM and I'll make 700rwhp and walk you like a dog.
Funny. That would be over 500,000 HP and 750,000 HP respectively.

The only walking you'd do would be with your tail between your legs after being destroyed by my .9 sec 1/4 mile.

A T-REX + 3.42's + surging below 2k == good driveability?

For a non daily driver.. sounds like it needs tuning Sounds like a lot of high rpm 5th gear usage due to surging in 6th on 55mph-65mph roads Still, considering the size of the cam.. you'd think it'd be strip only.

Peace,
Josh

I don't mind it. It isn't hard to keep the car at 2000 RPMs while cruising with the M6.

In fact, everything in a 100 ft. radius would be "destroyed" by the shrapnels from your 10 bolts

It's all about preference. I've ridden in Josh's car and Beck'y husbands car(NL) his cam is just as big as the trex. Personally I wouldn't pick it for a daily driver, way to much bucking and surging under 2000rpm for me. But then again Josh and NL love it, so it's all preference as to what a *good* daily driver is.

In reality you wouldn't even be able to hook 5,000HP on the street... that is the most unintelligent post ever.
