morel tie bar lifters 5206 what is the max amount of preload you can run safely with a iron block aluminum heads....they recomend .030 1/2 turn but that doesnt seem like that will be enough based on what ive read here on the forms...would .045 be enough thanks in advance...

 

I set mine at .050.

I haven't started the engine yet so I don't have any input from driving etc.

 

thank you the companies recommend one thing, but the real world users are saying different so I believe I will leave it where its at thanks..

 

1/2 turn is the maximum preload I use on Alu/Alu with the 5206...anything above is a lost in power and vacuum...

With my set-up I never noticed any noise difference between 1 full turn, 45', 30' or 15' of a turn...

 

thanks I will take these pushrods back and get .025 shorter that will put me at 1/2 turn .030..thank you..
