Default Down to the wire:

Unless someone can talk me out of it, I will be ordering a Comp Cam 228/224 .571/.568 114LSA cam for my car. SpeedDemon has a great price on these cams that expires at the end of this week. Any reasons why I shouldn't go with this cam?

I'm not worried about emissions, my car is an A4, and I want some lope, but not severe lope. These will be paired up with an LS6 intake, LT headers, and stage 2 heads. I will also be getting a dynotune from Speed Inc. I'm hoping for at least 400RWHP with this setup.

it's a 228/224 114 .588 .581
I got it from TX speed and performance, they are a sponsor on here...

The cam I am considering and the TSP228 cam are identical, with the only exception being the TSP cam uses the XE-R lobes (lift is .588/.581) and the one I want uses the XE lobes (lift is .571/.568)

I am very nervous about piston to valve clearance since my 5.7L LS1 heads are going to be milled .030". I have no way of actually testing the clearance, so I thought it would be best to cut it a little less on the lift.

How is PVC on that TSP228 cam?

The 228/224 reverse-split makes some excellent power. Are you looking to grind any advance into the cam? Being on a 114 LSA, you should be fine with p-to-v clearance and a set of heads milled .030". Also, what springs will you be using on your new set of heads? Adequate spring pressures are critical in p-to-v clearnace. Feel free to e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com, as Alex said.

Thanks!
