is it 3.622 but if you go with a 4.000 crank with a set of pistons and 6.125 rods and different heads does that make it a 383?

heads have nothing to do with displacement, for that matter neither do rods or pistons.
Displacement is purely based on bore and stroke.

If you are asking these questions don't take on any mechanical projects for at least a year, and displacement can help power but is not the most effective or cheapest answer.

Adding displacement through the use of larger bore and stroke in a given engine is a very expensive way to add power, you can add 150+hp over stock naturally aspirated before adding displacement becomes worth considering.

i understand that heads have nothing to do with displacement....im not an idiot but if youre going with a bigger crank, rods, pistons, etc. shouldnt you have to get different heads for the fact that the piston would be too close to the stock heads and not be safe? and no im not looking for just 150+ hp this is going to be a completely built race car with a 383 i was just doing some research first to figure out what exactly im going to need thanks though.

Pistons don't get closer to the head due to displacement increase, the piston gets shorter so as to still endup near the deck height.

Ported stock heads can work great on a "built" motor.

Wut? I don't think you know how things work.

Regardless of stroke and rod/piston combo, they all are going to go up the same in the cylinder. A longer stroke will require shorter pistons, so no you don't have to get different heads. In fact, they don't make heads that will clear pistons going out of the hole much.

ahhhhh okay i gotcha so you would just get a different piston/rod combo to compensate for the bigger stroke but whatever set up goes with the bigger stroke will still end up at the same top of the deck?

The rod remains the same, it's the piston's crown that gets smaller (called compression height) which in turns makes the whole combo match the other and not shoot up into the heads.
