Default L33 cam swap

Any advice out there on what cam to go with on a stock L33 with a manual transmission.

All I can say is with a 5.3L go with a cam that has about 4* less duration(@.05" lift) than you would with a cam going into a 5.7L LS1 or LS6 engine.

1. weekend, daily driver ?
2. smooth or rough idle ?
3. what's more important, power below 5k or above ?
4. what's your preferred power band ?
5. intended usage 1/4 mile, auto cross, street ?
6. what vehicle is it in, and roughly how much does it weigh ?
7. does it need to pass a emissions tailpipe sniffer test ?
8. stock exhaust manifolds/shorty header, or long tube headers ?

I think you get the idea. The more info you give us the better, since we can't read your mind.

Daily driver
Smooth idle with mild lope
Low to mid rpm power
Engine in a 3k lb jeep wrangler
Stock header for now but swapping to center dump shorty eventually
Manual transmission
Street/off road use/rock crawling
No emissions test needed

Was interested in a Texas speed 220r with 114 or 112 lsa. Looking to see if anyone has any other recommendations before I purchase something.

Here's a couple of cams I'd look at. Both should work good for you with the smaller 214/218 111lsa +2 (-6* overlap, IVC is 36)cam will have slightly better low end, and the larger 218/222 112lsa +4 (-4* overlap, IVC is 37)cam slightly better midrange power. The larger cam should make slightly better peak hp an tq.

BTW, I'd recommend you stick with a split pattern cam with a mild I/E duration split(4* @.05") because of the more restrictive exhaust. Furthermore I'd go no larger than a 220/224 112lsa +4 cam for your usage.
