Default using comp cams valve stem seal installer ?

has anybody use this before? it seems like it ruins the springs on the seals. had to remove the spring first then it works good.

i reused some of the old springs to replace the 3 i ruined. good idea or bad?

Imo, you're either using the wrong seal installer, or somehow you're doing it wrong.
I'd buy more seals , and plan on replacing any with old springs on them. If you have to reuse some of the old seal spring temporarily write down which seals you used old seal springs on for future reference when you replace them with new seals, again.

If you're using Comp Cams #5334 then you're definitely doing it wrong.

Yes I'm using 5334. Seems like a no brainer to use. Guess I'm wrong. Just a couple taps to get them seated. Seals went on smoothly just messed the spring up. Idk what I could be doing wrong

Seems like the part that holds the spring on the seal doesn't fit into the tool

There is a problem with it so use a 12mm socket. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-unseated.html
