MS4 in 5.3?
Hey all,
Has anyone ran a magic stick 4 in their 5.3? What heads, intake, stall and gears were you running? Any hp numbers? Track times?
Any input as to whether this is a decent cam choice or not would be great, also any suggestions for another cam would be appreciated too. I currently still have my engine apart and am still in the research stage before purchasing any major parts. This car will get driven to work the odd day, but mostly used for cruising around and hitting the track.
Cheers,
Chase

Would sound outrageous, but as cool as that is, doesn't win races. I was thinking it'd be a little bit too big. But of course, everyone talks and have a couple friends that are thinking it would be a fairly decent cam choice. My thinking was something more along the lines of cranes 1449121, .590/.590 lift cam. With a 4000 stall, holley highrise, and have my heads milled for a higher compression, until I can buy some PRC's.

That Crane 224/232 115lsa+4 cam should be fairly dd friendly, but you can still easily with a larger cam if you want and still be streetable. I'd just stick with a cam with less than a 230 intake(@.05") duration and you should be good. Crane does offer a 228/232 cam available with a 112 or 114 lsa, if you want a Crane cam.

I would suggest along the lines of a 224/228/110+0. 6 degrees of overlap, so you could still drive it, but it wouldn't be DD. It would DD on a bigger bore, though. enough overlap for good idle and carry power past peak. 8:1 DCR on 62cc heads, so it should run good on pump gas.
That with a set of 243 or 799 heads milled to get to 62cc, should be a fun little power plant.
