bent pushrod by hand..
Torqued rockers down, in middle of rotating engine by hand to retorque them, and SNAP.
Rocker arm came off intake valve cyl #3
Pulled push rod out....was bent.
If it matters, I was rotating engine counter clockwise.
Anyone know whyy?
Thanks

Stock pushrods. I put the bent one back in there and pressed on it, and felt tension. Is this just the lifter?
And now with a bigger problem, stuck a magnet in there to get response from lifter, and the tip of magnet got stuck on the lifter and magnet broke. This is my day... Depressing.

I was just rotating engine over 180 degrees, then was going to retorque rockers down.
All in all, I'm going to to jump off the face of the earth.... I forgot to put my rocket trays back in.... They were sitting in oil in the back of the garage...oops.
No more working on hungover Sundays!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for advice guys and excuse my stupidity for today

Is there a chance the pushrod wasn't seated in the rocker? This could increase the lift and then cause that one valve to hit the piston. You may have a bent valve it if did hit so if you need to pull the head to get the magnet, check the valve on that cylinder as well.

I thought he meant the things that go under the rocker arms in the heads, on top of the rocker mounts. he had started another thread where he was asking if it was possible to change the cam without pulling the heads, so I'm guessing he didn't pull the heads.

I was confused when he said "tray"
Which is another weird thing since the rockers sit in the rails pocket.. After torquing one rocker down it should be obvious that something is missing..
But that should explain why he bent a pushrod and probably did more damage, I would pull all the pushrods and roll them on a flat surface and make sure they're all flat still..
