It's in the tune... both the timing and the trans tuning. That's not to say it's stock, but it's still pretty stock-like. Even with the Kooks TDs and all the noise they make, if you get the tune sorted, you can certainly drive it everyday in traffic without much issue.
I was hesitant to run lowering springs with Kooks duals but after seeing both your setups it's a no brainer. Just need a set of wheels and I'll be set.

King- any other plans for the car?

Thanks! Yes the car drives much better with the BMR springs. I can also get in and out of my driveway with no issue which was a big concern. I have a cliff of a curb at then end.

I am debating attempting to finish the tune myself or trailer it south 2 hrs for a full street and dyno tune.

One thing I notice is the PCM is using the low octane tables, not sure if I have some bad gas. I put in a little octane boost to see if it will default back to the high octane tables. I was cruising around today in lockup @ 40mph with no bucking or surging. It also feels like I lost nothing in the 2-2500rpm range and above 3000 the new setup just pulls away...very happy with the setup!

Far as drive-ability, The only thing I notice is the short term trims are positive and it does not always catch it self when idling down from revving in park. Maf tables look stock, so I am sure that is part of it.

Surprisingly I still have plenty of ground clearance and no exhaust rattles or anything. Very happy with the BMR springs... I would go for it!!

No other plans for now...I will keep money aside to address the drive train if/when it is needed.

G'day Kinglt-1,

I just wanted to add a comment from the other side of the world. That really is a very clean, very good looking Camaro especially with the new lower suspension and it sounds the goods at idle as well. It's a real credit to you, I hope you get to enjoy it as much as you can.

Best wishes,
Jason

The new lowered stance looks even better Joe. Those rims just look awesome on there and to all the tech viewers I can attest that pictures do not do this car justice at all. The clear coat still looks factory wet !!!!

Comp 224/228 112 @ 1.7 ratio, I am running SLP 1.85's so its around 227/231.
Didn't know that higher ratio rockers added to the actual cam duration? Do those change the profile of the lobes?

I believe I am in the 11.3-11.4 range. Not sure on the dynamic, maybe Jim can chime in on that one.

No fly cutting was needed.

Redtan, increasing rocker ratio increases duration @ the valve because the higher ratio keeps the valve open longer. Advertised numbers are not effected, it's the .050 nunbers that the rockers inflate. There are some good articles floating around about it.

There was a link to a dynamic chart in JayPlaySS2 C6 build thread. Can't say I know off the top but I'd bet you're in the 8.65-8.7 range based on how crisp you say it responds.

61cc chamber 227/231 112 + ?
if it's 112+2 your at 11.48 static and 8.73 DCR . The more your advanced, the less your DCR. This was using the Piano Prodigy calculator.

The IVC is 110 and the LSA is 112.

Is that going to put me at the limits of 93 octane?

wait, I messed up. Figured with .040 gasket instead of your .045

11.33 static 8.62 DCR

You've been driving it without a knock sensor code, yes ?

Yes I have logged 100mi or so with HP tuners and not a hint of KR or any codes. However as I mentioned earlier the PCM appears to be defaulting to the low octane tables. It's weird because I have yet to see even 1 degree of KR in the logs.

Edit*

I am pretty sure it is something to do with the base tune. I am wondering if disabling LTFT defaults the PCM to low octane tables? The PCM is set to only use STFT... I am going to copy the high octane to low and log some data.

Well I got some tuning done after work. I think I am ditching the MAF. Put the car in SD mode, copied high octane to low octane tables, logged about 30 minutes worth of STFT data via histogram, dialed in the VE table. Now my STFT's are toggling +/-3 and no more surge coming to a stop. It is also seeing full timing with no knock so far.

The car is definitely a clean example of the ol' LS fbody. It is cleaner than his old junk LT1 car he got rid of for it. Get that tune done and lets go 5.Bro fishin!
