Did some Wot tuning today. Here is a log from 40-103 starting in second gear. It slightly hung up on the 2-3 shift, but I got that sorted by lowering the commanded shift mph by 2. I also raised the Idle 50 rpm(850) and that made a big improvement on catching itself coming up to a light and idling down from a rev. Also the fans are no longer pulling it down when they kick on.

Thanks for posting this screen shot,, I'm tuning with MS2 an don't have knock sensors hooked up,, you are cruising with 41.5 adv timing and it didn't get into KR at all.. this is very informative for me,, I couldn't hear sound for some reason,, bet it was good!! Again Thanks for posting this screen shot!!

Just a Update...

Car is now traction limited! Definitely needs a new tires...down to the wear bars. I am absolutely destroying the 315/35/17 Toyo TQ DR's. Tried a couple launches and can not go past half throttle in first and second gear spins until 65-70mph.

Raced my Dads 85 Monte SS. It has a LPE built (as cast)Dart Headed SBC 383 with a 230/236 110, built 2004r and a FTI 3200. Billet Specialty 15x10's with a 275-60-15 MT DR. Power is in the 500hp range at the crank.

From a dig we both spun but I was able to roll out on him and pull 4-5 cars to 100mph.

We did a couple 10 and 20 rolls with me pulling 2-2.5 cars to 100mph.

I had my wideband hooked up and noticed the afr was in the 13.8-14.0 range @ wot. The crazy thing was the motor was not pulling any timing running that lean.
So when we got back from running, I added 10% to my VE to get the car to hit it's target PE vs EQ of 12.6:1. Well after that the car picked up a significant amount and traction became much worse.

So I decided to put the car on the lift and measure the suspension geometry and evidently lowering the car threw the rear end alignment off some. I wondered why the car was wanting to go left. So I adjusted my LCA's and now the car is going straight. Still need to measure pinion angle, but traction seems a little better now.

Might get the car on the rollers in July.

Update!

Went with a new wheel setup. 17x4.5 & 15x10 Dark Stars with a 275-50-15 MT DR

Went out this evening to the spot where I always run, hooked up my Gtech and went 11.69 first pass on 3/4 tank of gas. Came out of hole half throttle then put it to the floor, stuck good. Then a few rain clouds came through and I did not try again. I am guessing 11.3's will be doable on the street with this combo. Pretty decent for the street imo.

Thanks Jim! I am very pleased with how it is running. Did a little fine tuning today and it responded well. Need to hook up the gtech again and see if I gained.

Ran into a 2011 Bolt-on 5.0 yesterday. We did a couple 40 rolls since he was traction limited. This car trapped 117-118 on a terrible 2.6 60ft, so it is probably more like a 119-120mph car.

It's cool that you can provide your own results, using the same measuring tool every time.

Smart build with what appears to be very fun results. Good job.

Time for turbo...?

Lol. That's funny you say that cause my tuner and I have been talking about E85 quite a bit recently. I'd have to buy it all in advance though unless I could get a flex fuel system to work. Seems like for racing just going straight E85 would probably be best but I'm still researching

I would just go straight E85...my brother did it on his NA 383 LT1 car and it made a significant difference. Was able to add more timing, the car runs cooler, and it smells better. No more fuel stink that is associated with higher overlap cam setups. I am debating switching mine over...
