valve train ????
hi so recently doing heads cam and intake on a 2000 ws6 and i purchased Livernois Stage 3 heads with heavy duty dual valve springs. My question is that I am running a GM ASA camshaft that is pretty moderate on the lift and I noticed that the spring pressure to open on the intake valve is 385lbs @ .620 lift am I going to hurt this camshaft with these springs and should I swap the springs out for a lower spring pressure ?
385lbs @ .620 lift might only equate to 300@.525 lift.
It's manufactured by GM with good materials and a very good hardening process. Only way I think you could wipe a lobe is with a failed lifter wheel. What is the rest of the valve train ? That cam cries out for some SLP 1.85 rockers.

What are the rest of the spring values? You can figure out the actual spring force at the ASA cam lift if you have them.
I checked their web site and found the specifications below. Based on them, you spring open force at 0.525 is is 338 lbs assuming their installed height. With a 1.800" installed height, the spring force increases to 347 lb.
Specifications:
Install Height: 1.820
Max. Valve Spring Lift: .690
Spring Pressure Closed: 150lbs
Spring Pressure Open: 382@.620 / 410@.680
Coil Bind: 1.100
Retainer Material: Titanium

Thanks guys everything is either livernois or factory gm replacement parts i just dont wanna deface the front of the engine again because of a valve spring issue the heads are all livernois and they dnt give much info on them
thanks and i will call livernois and get more info about the heads and springs they gave me flow rates, combustion chamber voulume and valve diameters.
