Should be fine with stock rear. The engine doesn't make that much power. If you get upwards of 450 or more, you might want to beef it up or swap it then.

Guess alot depends on you plans for the swap. From what I know ..having an auto helps prolong. .I also came across a few post where some have had no issues and have some built cars.. if you have the money or the know how (8.8 swap) I would just plan on replacing the 10bolt.. just my .02.. I plan on doing that first before I swap in the 6.0. I'm even thinking 4l80 swap.. the 60e not really known for being the strongest..plus the gap between 1st to 2nd sucks

should be fine as it is. i plan on using my 10 bolt for my turbo street car for a while. my understanding is horsepower doesn't necessarily break rear ends, but traction does.

I broke mine on the 1-2 shift WOT pulling away from a stop light. Broke the carrier. All stock a4......... the rears are so tiny its a joke. If I want to I could break it at will.

correct...but with no traction = no moving.

Even a M6 with DR's can break the stock 10 bolt.

I have an 8.8 rear with my 403ci LQ build. Just waiting for my tune session on the 1st.

If you plan on a high HP build the rear and proper suspension mods will be important to do if you plan on not being broke all the time. Waste no $$$ on a 10bolt. 12 bolts, 9" or if you got the means to make one 8.8. I know Hawks 3rdgen is selling 8.8's now too.
