It will sound like any other 228/232 more then likely. Those 2 cams installed and set up correctly are probably more alike then different.

The 2.5 5.3 heads and cam kit is 1909.99 with PRC .650 double springs. A gasket and bolt install kit for an Ls1 is 159.99 with GM bolts, or we can upgrade to ARP for a little more.

You and me both, but its still reassuring to know I've never seen an FTI cam go flat. I'd buy his cam in 100% confidence.

Ya I agree I haven't either which is reassuring. For years I was always debating between the SS HT and the cam 01SSREDA4 has that spartan always recommended but once I read CAMMOTION was grinding some cams for Ed it seemed too perfect.

Absolutely correct, josh at Spartan performance highly recommended the older shelf grind of the what it now titan4. He used it a ton of times in builds just didnt mention (***** it out) on here often so it was overlooked.

If you don't mind me asking, what heads did you use and what numbers were you putting down?

I have the AI 226cc 799s milled 40. No dyno numbers, being an auto and all it doesn't interest me much. It ran 11.2x @ 118 last go round. Its gonna go faster this year without going into the motor I can tell you that much.

Yeah that's a pretty impressive time regardless. I'm just trying to narrow down my choices on heads for the Titan 4 to estimate total costs. I'm assuming that cam requires dual Springs since that's all that cam motion sells.

I would put a dual spring on it just to be precautionary. If you really wanna know the limits ask Kip the owner of cam motion for his spring recommendation. Obviously he knows his cams better then anyone.

Contact EPS as well, ground through cam motion also. You can also apparently now get EPS cams on any duration as well according to kip.

I'm sure the OP already has made his choice on cams, but for what it's worth to you guys, I just bought a Streetsweeper HT from Ed. He emailed and told me it's coming from Comp Cams and will be on a Callies core. It's supposed to be here Monday the 17th, I'm at a 'work stoppage' waiting on the cam. I heard somewhere that Ed used Lunati, then I heard on this thread that Ed used Cammotion, but the cam that I got from him is from Comp Cams. I'm guessing their whole cam whining thing is behind them or he wouldn't be using them.

I'll be going with the Titan IV. I'm just rethinking my head selection now...

that's a good choice. It'll drive good and make lots of power. What are you thinking head wise? Aim for around 11-1 to get the most out of it

I've been looking into the AI 223 dart/ rhs heads. I'm on somewhat of a budget otherwise the MMS 220's would be my choice hands down.

The head that I seem to see the most positive reviews on after the MMS220 is the TFS 220 as cast. It'll be $200 more than the AI linked above, but a 2.055 intake valve vs 2.000.

In all honesty, though heads at this level are varying degrees of awesome, though I'm very partial to the Mamo220.
