Default Which cam

I've narrowed my choice down to either the TSP 228r 112 lsa or the Streetsweeper Ht (228/232 .600/.612 111 LSA).

It's my DD and might see the track once a year if that. I'm after good drive ability and power under the curve that makes around 425rwhp. It's going to be paired with 1 7/8 headers, a fast 92/92 and prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads. Most likely a Yank ss3200, currently on 3.42 rear end.

Which cam is a better choice for me?

SSHT between those two. It has more overlap and will make more power with a little more torque and power under the curve, both can be made to drive really well as well

Between those 2, Streetsweeper the better choice.

That's reassuring. I was dead set on the 228r until I did a little more research and found the Ssht. That's what I'll go with.

Thanks for considering us for your camshaft purchase. Let us know if we can help in any way. The TSP 228R is a proven performer & we can setup & mill the PRC heads for proper p/v & compression gains for the the TSP camshaft for no extra charge. We can even mail order tune the ecm for a custom combo to get you rolling!!

Love that streetsweeper. Installed two. They sound nasty too at idle.

Another vote for the Streetsweeper HT cam. It has always put down impressive numbers, and laid down impressive ET's.

Titan4 from Cam Motion. Similar specs, better core material, lobes that are easy to control i.e. easy on valvetrain....also, it will be quiet. I'm running a similar grind.

We offer our LSX Stage 1 and Stage 2 camshafts that compliment the cathedral heads with excellent drive ability with a little flatter lsa and will be a bit easier for your tuner to dial in.
They do not require a aftermarket converter, the converter will help the car leave but will also suck up a bit of power.

LSX Stage 1 224 224 .568" .568" 114

LSX Stage 2 232 232 .595" .595 114

we do offer some more aggressive grinds that are still plenty street able but would be complimented by a baby stall.

It seems now that I am in a similar situation as when I started lol. Now the debate is between the SSHT and the Cam motion Titan IV. What would the power difference be with these 2 and what would work best with my intended set up? The Titan being easier on the valve train is a plus since this is my DD.

I read somewhere Ed has been using Cam Motion and you could get the SS HT on the better cores

Na not on the SS HT, already asked him. His reasoning is that he has had zero failures with them. He uses lunati cores and I've heard of zero failures on the forums, and you know as well as I do if there had been one, someone would have immediately posted it and complained.

CAMMOTION Titan IV For the Win!
For all the reasons 01SSredA4 said, especially gentler lobe profiles &
Better steel Which will deliver more valve spring/train, stability and longevity.
And 113* LSA more DD friendly than 111*

I'd like to how much a package deal would cost?
PRC 2.5 heads and cam package and everything to complete an install. I'm almost ready just waiting to get my car back from the paint shop

You know that old saying, practice what you preach. My cam is a shelf grind with almost identical specs to a titan4.

Damn, nice run. I was wondering what kind of numbers the Titan 4 would put down and what it would sound like but I haven't had much luck finding info. At least that gives me a good idea.
