Default Help! Engine is using massive amount of oil

Okay guys,
I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx with a 5.3. It's mostly stock with custom comp cam from tick performance. When I got the block I had it sent to an engine shop and got it honed, they said block was in great condition. So i just put fresh rings, bearings etc. I changed my oil about 2-3 weeks ago after the break in period and everything seemed fine. Very little metal on the plug, nothing out of the ordinary. Today I was on my lunch break and rolled into second a little and it lost all power around 5k. I get to my buddies house and I looked over everything. All sensors are attached, all vacuum hoses are good. Nothing seems crazy until I check my oil and it's gone. The stick is barely wet. I immediately went to the nearest store and had to add 7qts, (i have a swap pan). The car is not smoking. There are no leaks. I recently took my exhaust off and it looks clean. Does anyone have any idea how 7 qts of oil can dissapear. Motor runs like a champ. No noises or anything. It has less than 800 miles on it.

If you lost that much oil in that short of time and no leaks I would be pulling the engine.

I was thinking about that, but what could be going on? I don't understand where the oil is going.

I can't imagine it vanishing like that in a short time frame.

Have you checked the coolant to see if any made its way there?

If it was burning that much the spark plugs would show fouling, pull plugs inspects leak down test, compression test, pull valve covers and inspect valve seals etc.

Somebody pulled your drain plug and stoled your oil. If you have no signs of leaks, no signs of burning oil, YOU filled it to the correct level and it's not in your cooling system then there's no other explanation. Is your dip stick correctly placed?

Yes dip stick is correctly placed. Even if it was off it showed absolutely no oil

It was suggested that also should pull the throttle body to see if there was any oil in my intake area. Going to try that as well

Okay guys, took the throttle body off and immediately smelled oil. Looked inside the intake and it looks coated in it. About to take plugs out and will update shortly.

when my intake was filled up with oil, it was the PCV that was the culprit

7 quarts of oil through the intake would smoke like a diesel. You either did not fill it correctly or somebody is ******* with you and drained your oil. Get a catch can on that motor with a new PCV valve.

How exactly did you measure the 7 quarts that had to go in?

Did you let the engine cool down and oil settle at in the pan then added 7 quarts to finally get it to the right mark on the dipstick? Or did you just pour in 7 quarts of oil right after shutting down the engine?

It's gotta be one of these two, no way in hell you burned through 7 quarts in that little time without noticing it one bit.

No doubt. I can't imagine it all went through the PCV in a few weeks, but it does sound like there is a PCV problem.

Got to wonder - as low as these cars ride, must be a 110 pound nerd that stole the oil. I can barely get a shoulder under the car without lifting it. Lifting the car with my shoulder, that is

I agree with all of you guys. It blows my mind. The plugs look fine and so do the valve seats. I'm draining all the oil tonight and I'm getting a new filter. I'll let you guys know what happens. Or better yet I'll post a video of what it looks like on fire in my driveway.
