Default help with cam for ls1!

Trying to decide on a cam for my daily driver, new a4 going in with fti 3200 street brawler. Car has pacesetter LTs, ls6 intake, and stock heads. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a baby cam (224r) but it is a very nice street cam. good bottom end, nice power up top and a nice sounding idle

I was looking into the ts 228r. I guess another question I have would be what other changes would I need to make to my motor for it to run correctly? I've never done a cam installation yet so I'm a bit nervous

I think you would be pleased with something like this:

I'd strongly consider a gear with a cam swap

Would 3:42s be large enough? Or bigger?

A 3.42 would be a pretty big increase and would greatly help. If it's a daily driver it would be a good choice IMO

Well I was thinking 3:42s could probably be found for pretty cheap. Or 3:73s but I'd like to keep some of my gas mileage

depending on how fast you drive you might not see any difference in MPG at all

my car with 3.42s and the cam/engine setup turns out best MPG at 75-80 mph, if I drive 65-70 is has a harder time keeping the converter locked and also falls out of the butter zone of efficiency

so for example if I wanted to drive 70mph all the time it might be better if I had 3.73s

So for lower speeds such as 65-70 then 3:73s would be the better choice
