Default Rod length question 408 build

This is on a 6.0 iron block. Planning my build and have on hand the 4" crank and Wiseco pistons at 1.115 CR Height. Now, my current deck height is at 9.221". With a 6.125 rod, it puts me at .019 above the deck and quench with an LS9 head gasket puts me roughly at .032 quench which i don't feel too comfortable with. I have on hand 6.100" rods which put me at .006" in the hole and I am fine with that. My question is, will the 6.100" rod pull the piston down too low out of the already short bore of the iron block and cause issues?

Compression will be roughly 10:1ish and I am stuck on the LS9 gasket due to it working so well. This motor will be lightly boosted too.

No way should you be considering running a positive deck that measures anywhere near that!

I ran that much on my turbo build.. It happens when you get the block decked..

As long as you measure and have quench above .035 it will work fine

It should be okay. I'm 99% positive that Wiseco shelf pistons will work with either 6.100" or 6.125" rods.

Thanks, so you see no issue pulling the piston down .025" further down in an iron block with the 6.100 rod? I'm probably over thinking it a bit but I just wanna be sure.

No, there won't be an issue if the skirt was designed for it. If you want to be sure, I would consult with someone at Wiseco. They'll know better than anybody.
