Default 5.3 LS9 Cam swap issue

I just built a 5.3 for Boost, LS9 cam, Got the LS2 front cover and cam sensor. I am using a Cloyes double timing chain for the swap. Now my cam sensor is WAY too long to go it. It hits the timing chain about 1/8 inch before it hits the bolt surface. Has anyone had this issue??

The double roller cam gear is too thick. I don't believe a double roller will work with that type of set up.

You need an OEM gear to read the cam signal.

^ a single roller hexadjust is more than enough and will fix that no problem.

The doubles I'd imagine have had slowing sales over the years. Folks realized that if a C5/6/7r can get away with a single, why can't I?

Take the cover off and take pictures of the timing set installed.

This is the closest thread I could find for a LS9 cam swap into a 5.3. I've got a brand new LS9 cam sitting on the shelf and a 5.3 LM7 I'm going to put a little turbo on. I figured I'm going to just swap the LS9 cam in. I know the cam speed is read from the back of the 5.3 cam and the LS9 is off the front. Ill use the 5.3 cam sensor to keep the hole plugged.

My question is do I just need to change the front timing cover(LS2), cam sensor(LS2) and make an extension for the old cam sensor harness to reach the front of the engine?
