Default ditched my 5.3 idea for a 6.0 swap in nova

i had a lm7 that i was going to build for my 66 nova swap but came across a low milage complete 6.0 from a 03 truck. i have read many forums there are so many builds to consider but not many have dyno numbers to share. Anyone have a proven build to share i want to run the stock 317 heads if possible even if i have to have them milled a bit.

The truck 6.0 is a LQ4. You could mill the heads to up your compression. The LQ4 is 9.4 to 1 comp. The 317 heads are good but they have 72cc chamber. You could go with 243 heads which have 64cc chambers which would get you around 10.25 to 1.

Good advice. If you want to go turbo, the 317 is worth keeping for the lower compression. NA, 243 or 799 heads will do better

I run PRC 5.3 heads on a 6.0 and they make great compression and power, but the 317's work great too if you get that compression up
