Default Low miles engine - cam swap question

So I bought a new LS6 crate engine (04 CTS-V spec engine from SDPC) a few years back and currently it only has like 4 to 5k miles on it. My question is if I decide to do a cam swap, would I be ok reusing my oil pump, timing chain, lifters/trays? The parts have so few miles on them and the car hasn't really been run too hard in this amount of time (no trips to a drag strip or anything).

Let me know your thoughts. Obviously if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right. But reusing my low mileage parts would save me some money.

If you're not going to race that thing hard then yes those should be fine.

If however you plan on driving hard then some might merit an upgrade regardless of mileage.

You will be fine unless you go with some crazy lift cam. You will need to change springs either way.

parts you listed should be fine. Springs, pushrods, and crank bolt will need changing.

I'm not sure if the LS6 came with the LS2 sized chain or not, but if it didn't consider going to a Cloyes 3220 LS2 timing set for like $50.

Honestly yes you would be fine. Lots of people tend to forget that the ls1 was out in 96 and people were camming them by Xmas of that year lol. It wasn't until the early 00's those upgrades even existed. I ran my crate ls6 with nothing but a supporting valvetrain and the cam. The oil pump is a good piece and will be fine for a cam only setup, the timing chain again worked for everyone else till the ls2 came out. You wont break it with such a mild setup. I'm not really advocating either way just saying it worked for me and theres nothing wrong with leaving what you have.

Now with that said a new oil pump is about 100 bucks and an ls2 chain is about 40 bucks. So you make the call if its worth it, I would change the chain before the pump honestly. I was doing mine on a budget and decided with 4k miles my engine had and keeping what I typed above in mine I let her rip. Eventually at 35k I lunched the block but that had nothing to do with the chain or oil pump. It always maintained great oil psi and ran like a top. A good balancer is far more important than going to an ls2 chain. I beat that engine like it owed me money and even when it had a piece missing from the block it sang to 6800 no problem.
