Most people I have seen have been getting the TR224 cam with the stage 2 heads from absolute speed and that is what was recommended to me. However, I have been reading great things about the F1 cam and was wondering if it would work with the absolute speed heads and if anyone had tried the cam w/ these heads(and if so what kind of numbers it put down)? Also would running a 100 shot of nitrous determine if the cam would work with these heads or not?

Well if no one knows about the absolute speed heads i guess my main question is with heads that have been milled .035 to a compression of 10.8, will their be enough p/v clearance with the F1 cam(230/226 .591/.569 112+2)?

Give Jay at Absolute a call.He has an LS1 engine in his shop for the purpose of checking piston to valve clearance along with other issues along these lines. He was just doing this with an X1 cam the other day.He would be able to answer any and all your questions.516-987-9392

I agree call Jay. I will be receiving my heads this week. They are 5.3's though. He knows the specs on F1 and can help you with your questions.

I've talked to Jay at Absolute Speed and all their heads are made specifically for the customer, so if you work with him, the chances are, he can come up with something for your specific needs.

Thanks for the help. Just in case in anyone else wanted to know, I received an email that said with the 5.7 heads that have been milled to a 10.8 compression, the p/v clearance would be very close and he recommended fly cutting the pistons .030.
