Default bolt ons ls1 210,000 miles. ported tsp oil pump good idea?

Found a good deal on a brand new tsp ported ls6 oil pump. I am debating weather this would be a good idea to get for when chain comes due. But worried about my motor blowing all my oil out the pan

I would consider a high volume pump with so many miles.

Blowing the oil out of your pan? What?

Sorry. Pumping all the oil out of the pan into the top, leaving nothing in the pan to cycle. I do not know if it will do this, I have never put a high volume pump on a stock motor, but it's such a good deal.

An ls6 pump is not a high volume pump. Only the DoD and melling HV are. (I'm sure there are others) The difference is that the gearotor is wider. A ported pump is certainly better than a stock one but you might as well go with a melling.

I highly doubt you'll suck the pan dry. I've been running a HV Melling for a while and never had an issue.

Never a bad idea to up the oil pressure a little especially with high miles.

TSP certainly charges a bit for a ported and shimmed ls6 pump new. It's probably about the same as a melling high pressure pump. If it is indeed brand new $80 is a pretty good price. I'd ask to see the gearotor unassembled. If it's new, buy away.
