A clear picture of the piece instead of your shirt would help. Hard to tell, piece is blurry.

Yeah, take some more pics without holding it-and not in a shadow. Place it on a table, move back just a bit.

Did these things come out the oil drain plug hole into the drain pan you're using?

Looks to be deceased cam bearing remains.

How did this engine run? Any noises, banging or knocking?

How many miles on it? Well cared for or well beaten?

It's thin and curved. Looks like the end of rocker arm bearing. Surprised you didn't find some bearing pieces in there also.

I would have to guess cam bearings also. seem too small for crank bearings and rocker arm bearings would have a hell of a time getting into the oil pan

Pics are bad but to me it looks like part of a rocker trunion.

For a second I thought this was a link to a buzzfeed article, based on the thread title.

Its definitely not a crank, rod or cam bearing. I was also thinking a trunion bearing but wanted a more clear picture to be safe. That last picture looks like a valve seal band broke but its too big I think..

And BTW. Its VERY easy for anything that comes from the top of the head to end up in the pan. Unless it gets caught up in a small valley, it only has one place to go, and that's down.
