spraying n2o on certain cams

spraying n2o on certain cams i just ordered my cam its going to be a 224/230 with a 112LSA..i do not plan on spraying my car but i was asked if i was and since i wasnt the 112 was recommended over a 114LSA...why is this and would it hurt my engine if i ever decided to spray(if i did it would be no more than a 75 shot, but even this is unlikely). i am just curious as to why certain cams work better with n2o than others.
i just put a 242 242 .595 .595 112lsa lunati in my 395 stroker
and am going to be spraying a 150 shot through it.
114 lsa will make more power on the juice than the 112 but i
wanted the 112 because the car will primarily be a street car.

Not too sure but I believe the lower the number for LSA, the more overlap you have. If you have a more overlap, then the longer the exhaust and intake valves will be open at the same time, and you wouldn't be getting as much from the nitrous. Or at least that's how it has been explained to me.

correct, with say a 110lsa you would be blowing half of the nitrous right out the exhaust.

but from my understanding its not as critical unless you plan a nitrous build up. a 112 with a 75-100 shot would be fine. Thread Starter
