All - searched but could not find my exact topic.

Mods in signature. Car starts up with zero oil pressure for about 3 seconds then will steady at about 30-40 PSI on the stock oil gauge. Before it would start up right away to 30 PSI and get pressure but now there is a 3 second or so delay.

Just trying to see what steps you guys & gals would take.

Oil pressure sending unit might be damaged.

It's behind the intake manifold and they are very brittle and prone to breaking or going out if it's the original one..

 

Oil filter bleeding down could cause that or oil pick up o ring leaking or bad sender. I would use a mechanical oil p gauge to confirm the sender is ok.

 

How many miles on this engine? Fresh or old oil filter? What filter?
