Question Please help identify this cam

What can be determined from these markings? Will this work with a stock LS1 long block without having any PTV issues? What about a stock shortblock with with 243 heads?

From the top marking "228R114" Looks like maybe its the TSP 228/228 .600/.600?

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1148-te...-camshaft.aspx

I dont know what the other markings on the bottom would mean though. Can anyone with the TSP cam mentioned above confirm?

Looks like a 228r to me. 228/228 .588/.588 114lsa. It would work just fine in your motor but you will need aftermarket springs and pushrods.

Thanks. I just called in and spoke with Russell. He told me the same info. Said it was an older version with the 588/588 lift. I also have the heads off the smae engine the cam came out of which are ported 241's with dual springs which I guess I will use for now. I do also have hardened pushrods going in as well along with new melling high volume oil pump.

Appreciate all the help

Hey Chad. Looks like you're still doing it. I haven't heard from Don in a while. I see the T/A was sold.

Hey Glen! Long time no hear from.. Yup, I'm over a year into this GTM rebuild project. Car time for me is limited nowadays with a 1 year old baby girl, so car related stuff takes way longer than it used to for me. Bought the GTM after the TA sold. I had that car for longer than I've had any other. Loved that beast for 10 years! I still miss it a lot tho. Still living here in GA- been here over 4 years now. We love the coastal life of this area.

Don's current project is a twin turbo nova. Its pretty slick and his fab skills have gone to a whole new level doing all the work himself on that TT setup. He needed a SD tune for it tho so he went a different route this time.
