Are you going to get some numbers with their best set on the X3? Would these AFR's just bolt right up to our cars with the X3 without flycutting or anything?

We had AFR do a 59cc combuston chamber for us. It costs slightly more, plus we went with the spring upgrade (Notice the nearly 7000rpm pull with no drop off in hp)

I did some more pulls up to 7000 and the power was still at 480rwhp at 7000. keep in mind that this is an untouched LS6 bottom end, except for fly cuts.

We should have some of these in next week. they will come with 66cc combustion chambers unless we upgrade to a different volume.

Thanks

LG

So with any AFR head we get (X3 owners) will need to flycut the pistons? I love how that HP stays until 7k, insane Lou!!!

I was up there and talking with the LGM guys earlier today... it is my feeling that there is more left in the car after tuning... apparently the A/F is pretty fat; I think that leaning it out a bit will get the hp over 500 and the torque over 450.

I was trying to talk Lou into slapping a FAST 90 setup on there, but I don't know that they have the time to monkey with it... it'd sure be neat to see what it'd do with the FAST 90 and an EWP...

He said it himself.. the dyno is fixed.

j/kin.

Incredible numbers!! This means exciting things for the LS1 world.

JRP: I think he meant find somebody with LG built car with the g5x-3 with different heads. Although 2 different cars on different days wouldn't prove as much proof of anything.

Peace,
Josh

I am glad someone caught on to what I was trying to say.

There are several dyno graphs of people with this cam and different heads i.e. TEA, PP , AS etc, RUN A SEARCH!

It will be interesting to see what power they make once some head porters get their hands on them.

Good numbers but I think I will wait for the 225s. These seem to be equivalent to the best ported LS6 heads out there.

really nice #'s for that cam & car.

But why 11.24 CR? Please just bolt on a set of 66cc and let's see what those do (Would have to do that on an LS1).

Or With less compression (10.5:1 or so) I would immagine the #'s will drop by 10 rwhp on that Z06.

The regular 66cc have springs good or .550 lift. So most of us would have to upgrade (more expensive)

You want to corner the market? Test against the best stage II's. Same motor, same cam, same everything, same CR. All that is done is AFR swap.

Initial test show good potential, but I never understand why not just test the heads as they are sold?

AFR 66cc, cam below .550 lift on an LS1.
Or better yet take a stock LS6 and just swap the heads. Fair and square. After all that's what the 205's are designed for.

(OK, now I'm gonna be called a basher again)

Im with you on that one...... what was the compression with the LS6 heads on the car to begin with?? Who ported them? Spec's? Back to back runs on a car withe the same cam and SAME compression would really let us all know what kind of power these HEADS make..... Raising Comp. almost a full point is going to make some of that extra power. I know alot of use are just wanting to see what these heads alone will do the exact same way we are going to buy them. Im not doubting they make power i just want to know how much.....

Nice numbers, and great torque. I'm not trying to be negative, but haven't similar setups with ported LS6 heads made over 500 rwhp? I can't wait to see what the 225's do.

good stuff Lou.. awesome results.

what is the cost of the 205's w/ the upgraded springs?

also how much extra for the 59cc combustion chamber.. (that raises the compression a little more i assume)

Does anybody think these heads will be like the new model year corvettes ....top $ dollar paid at first from all the loaded people who can't wait, then the price will come down due to all the competition? I'm thinking around $1900 would be nice and yet still 1/2 a thousand less than AS or TEA which are also very good.
