CAREFULL!! You want the best, it comes with a price. Like us, we could of bought a Ford for cheaper but instead we pimp F-body rides
TEA,AI,and Livernois all have plenty of stats to back up their names.

Advanced induction. Had great results with them (460 rwhp on an ls1 with baby cam) and they have a no bs attitude and good customer service. I have a friend who owns a shop and frequently see cars dynoed with their heads and have never seen one make bad numbers. All made more than I expected.

Oh and they're cheap, less than $1k still.

I'm thinking of porting my 243's myself and sending the heads to Livernois for their valve job and mill. I think one of the reasons Livernois heads flow so well is their valve job has 5 angles on the intake (2 bowl cuts) and a radius exhaust. The chamber cuts are different angles; most shops use the same angles (ex. 37*~37* or 30*~30*) on both chamber cuts.

If spending the money to ship and throw on one machine why not let them do the whole thing. A newb can ruin a pair of castings.

This was way back in 2011, but I want to say it took about 3 weeks. Figure shipping both ways is about a week.

Other than a extra $1000.00 ? They would open up the intake port to 220cc where as I would open it to 212~215cc, I would thin the valve guide boss and size the bowl to 90% of the 2.00" valve. I would leave the swirl ramp and rocker boss. I would open the exhaust port from 75cc to 85 or 90cc and thin it's guide so I could run a single pattern cam. My goals are different than most of the people here.

Hello, we have our standard cylinder head packages that are set at a competitive price point.
Based off the input from members like "squalor" we want to reinforce that we also offer custom cylinder head work for anyone looking for something more or less than our standard.
These are requests that we custom quote.
Our cylinder head department can handle just about requests.
custom guides; seats; chamber welding whatever your looking for within reason.

I was researching AI LS3 heads last night and came across this on Yellow Bullet. He doesn't mention what the other 3 head porters were, but AI came out on top vs all of them.

I think in this day and age I'd be more inclined to look at an aftermarket head over a ported stock casting.

Mr. J-Rod, what if I have a pair of 8k mile ls6 243 heads? I can send them off to AI along with a set of springs of my choice to fit my cam and I am $$$ saved right??? Oh, and I still have my stock (kind of) heads.

Or you could sell the 243 heads, make roughly $400+ dollars that you could put toward an aftermarket casting. You can purchase TFS 220cc as cast heads for a really good price through Brian Tooley, or you could comb through the classified section on here for a used set of AFR or TFS heads.

Based on what?
30years ago when stock heads were crap that made sense. Today stock stuff is good and responds well to porting and retains stock rockers without extra work. Aftermarket has it's place but for most of us ported GM castings are a great option.

Oh yeah right, sell a set of ls6 243's with 8k miles for $400. I have not seen that at least these days. Maybe a couple plus years ago on the z06 forum. I have already purchased a new set of afr 215's. I am just wondering if I should leave what I have untouched or work them for a potential new project ..... Like that's going to happen lol. I will probably just pack them away in the AFR box and forget...

I would venture to say you'd get even more than $400 since they have the lightweight valves too.
