Default Best head porter

I have a set of 243 heads that I want to get cnc'd. Where is the best place? AI? TEA? TSP? Anywhere that I didn't list? I am just looking for opinions on who you think does the best job at porting heads.

CAREFULL!! You want the best, it comes with a price. Like us, we could of bought a Ford for cheaper but instead we pimp F-body rides

What's your price range? AI, TEA, WCCH, Flowtech Induction, Livernois, etc. will all do a great job and you can see great results from each of those companies ported heads. Reason I ask about price range is because Tony Mamo's head porting is going to be a lot more than the above listed.

Says you live in OK, I'd look @ porters closer to where you live.
Texas has a few well known head porters that do good LS work.
For cathedral GM heads once you get into the higher priced porting sometimes it's worth considering selling the GM heads & putting the money towards a set of as cast heads.

^^^ That's very true. If you don't already have the castings, I'd look at the TFS 220cc as cast heads from Brian Tooley. With his extra hand port work, those heads are on par with the TFS 215cc CNC'd heads.

Livernois has the option to purchase the heads already CNC ported, where the other places require you to send in the castings.

Id Look into the TSP porting. For 1229.99 for Stage 2.5 portwork with new valves and a spring kit its a solid price. The reason for most places wanting customers to send in their 243 castings is the fact that you cant get new GM ls6 heads anymore.

If you don't want to ship the heads to California to Tony Mamo I would see if Greg Good was floating around. After all his ported 243 heads have went 10.0s in the quarter on 408ci.

Thanks guys! And I would like to keep it around 1k. Definitely not over 1500 because as stated, I could just save a little longer and get some great heads and sell the 243's as well. I seen on Texas Speed that I can send in my 243's and get their 2.5 stage porting done for $950. Is there anyone that runs these successfully? With bolt-ons and cam?

He's doing a lot of viper stuff now, but I'd say he's the best.

Agreed, but I think he developed some CNC programs while he was working at SAM, so there may be something there. I think Bischoff is also CNC porting heads, but I think both of those guys are overkill for this.

Greg Good and Frankenstein are close to you. Also look up Zack Boyer from Next Gen Performance / Unique Motorsports. He's in OK and did the H/C/I for that "Red Rum" vette. C6Z 455 LSX spraying like 1k worth of nitrous or something crazy like that.

I *think* that's where 510 got their CNC programs from, but don't quote me on it. I know SAM has had a lot of 243 head programs come through it though. Either way, I still want a Viper

Since when did 510 start CNC porting? I thought they hand ported everything. Matt does do pretty good work though, I've seen his ports on a Flowbench and each port was like within 1% of eachother.
